It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

IBM data replication products do not send round-trip messages (write command
and transfer ready) to start sending data. Instead, they start to send the data
immediately to the remote subsystem. This is similar to what the McDATA Fast
Write does. Therefore, the best practice is not to use fast write with IBM Metro
Mirror, Global Mirror, and Global Copy.
