It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The director is configured with dual, redundant power supplies, either of which
can supply power for the whole chassis. It also includes a hot-swappable fan tray
that manages the cooling and right to left (looking from the SFP side) airflow for
the entire director.
