It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Enhanced ISL trunking
This feature enables FC frames to be efficiently load balanced across multiple
ISL connections, while preserving in-order delivery. Up to eight 4 Gbps links can
be combined to set up an ISL connection with up to 32 Gbps throughput per
trunk.
2.1.2 M48 FC Routing Blade
The FC Routing Blade can be installed in the 2109-M48 Director to provide FC
routing and FCIP capabilities. At the time of writing, the M48 Director supports up
to two FC Routing Blades. Figure 2-2 shows the FC Routing Blade.
