Functions related to formatting/standardizing a string

Often, strings do not all follow a consistent format. There could be leading or trailing spaces in strings or them having different cases. All of these will lead to the strings to be considered distinct and separate. For example, if there was a string called book and another string called BOOK, they would be considered different. Using the following functions, we can standardize the string in our dataset:

• LOWER: This follows the syntax LOWER(string). It will return the string in all lowercase, for example, LOWER("Book") = book.
• UPPER: This follows the syntax UPPER(string). It will return the strings in all uppercase, for example, UPPER("Book")= BOOK.
