I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Maps (symbol and filled)
Maps are one of the most important visuals present in Tableau that quickly and effectively help to visualize any kind of geographic data. To identify a geographical field, look for the globe icon next to the field. Based on the geographical field, Tableau generates two fields, Latitude and Longitude. These are used to pinpoint the exact locations on the map. It is not necessary to use the auto-generated Latitude and Longitude fields; you can also upload your own geocoding, which we will cover in more detail in Chapter 4, Visualizing Geographic Data.
