CASE STUDY
If you’ve ever taken a one-week vacation to go skiing or snowboarding, you may relate to this story. I love snowboarding and go once a year, at least. During the first two or three days, I am excited and full of energy, and I go for it at full pelt – I’ll try anything. Then, around the fourth or fifth day, aches and pains start to affect my body, causing me to feel a bit tired. Now, because I love boarding, I keep going, demanding more from my body and getting up despite the aches and pains. I take additional precautions, such as making sure I get a good night’s sleep and eating food that is easy to digest.
