If you are a nine-to-niner or are just temporarily working long hours there will be times when the only way to get things done is to get by on less sleep. This is possible although it may not be medically advisable, but there are times when it happens.
First of all let me outline a common pitfall: when we sleep less, we tend to switch into a survival mode of thinking. We think we are ‘surviving’ on less sleep. We need to shift this perspective. Whenever we are in survival mode, we tend to be suffering or just getting by. This is mental resistance which will cause more stress.
