ADDING SHAPES TO a document is another technique that falls outside the realm of how we would work with Photoshop in terms of photography, but again, I don’t want to leave you completely in the dark about it. Let’s create a new Default Photoshop Size document and add some shapes to it so you can see how they behave.

You can access the shapes tools with the keyboard shortcut U. By default, the first one that you see in the toolbar is the Rectangle tool, but if you click and hold on the Rectangle tool, you’ll notice that there are a bunch of different options in the tool group (Figure 55.1).
