I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
19 A COMMUNICATOR
All the critical thinking and trust with stakeholders comes to nothing if you cannot communicate your ideas. We’ll focus on two of the many communication skills you might be expected to be proficient in: visualisation and storytelling.
Many years ago, I was asked by my nephew what I did. I told him my job title, then I thought about how to explain this in words suitable for an eight year old and came up with:
‘I tell stories that change people’s minds and draw pictures that help them know what to do.’
His reply ‘Cool. I can do that. I want to be an enterprise architect.’
