This entire book has been written from the perspective of someone who has only ever worked for clients by choice. There have been many instances when I could have worked for SpaceX, Kickstarter, Google, Apple, or a variety of other companies, but working on the same thing day after day, year after year never seemed appealing to me. There’s really nothing I envy about working as a product designer, except one thing: being able to stay with a feature or product after it has been launched.
