Many years ago I decided to turn off all alerts and notifications on all of my devices, with the exception of phone calls and text message alerts from my immediate family. That’s because for me to be as productive as possible, I need to be able to completely focus on a task. And I can get into a state of deep concentration only if I’m not constantly being interrupted by unimportant notifications.
