So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Five Phases of a Retrospective
Our format helps groups process information and think more deeply about a particular topic.
These are the five phases of a retrospective:
- Set the Stage
- Gather Data
- Generate Insights
- Decide What to Do
- Close the Retrospective
Each of these phases has a specific purpose. Set the Stage gets the team ready for the retrospective. Gather Data helps the team develop a shared mental model of what happened. Generate Insights enables the team to build a deeper understanding of their context and the problems at hand. Decide What to Do prompts the team to take action. And finally, Close the Retrospective brings the conversation to its conclusion.
The five-phase structure can fit into a few minutes or expand to fill several days. ...
