So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Flows, Not Plans
In this chapter, you have seen examples of different situations that a team and a facilitator might encounter and how an entire retrospective might flow from activity to activity to form a cohesive design. This idea of flow and of how the group’s energy, enthusiasm, and curiosity drive inquiry and decision-making is critical to an effective retrospective.
The impact of an effective retrospective naturally flows forward into the future. Dropped actions and short-circuited learning are crucial signs that your retrospectives don’t have this flow.
If you face any scenarios similar to the previous ones, use this chapter as a guide and a stepping stone to improvisation.
