We’re Not Agile
For some people, retrospectives are something that only those “crazy agile teams do.” For others, it’s even more constrained than that: all retrospectives are assumed to be Sprint Retrospectives and since sprints are part of the Scrum Framework, retrospectives are something only Scrum Teams do. Under this belief system, if you aren’t agile, or you aren’t doing Scrum, then retrospectives are not for you.
The reality is that retrospectives are simply meetings that help groups of people learn together by reflecting on their experiences and constructing ways to become better going forward. As such, they can be helpful to any team in almost any context, whether agile or not.
