It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Understanding network security vulnerabilities
We should treat network security as our first line of defense when it comes to stopping attacks from external sources. However, attacks that can be prevented with good network security devices range in type and severity, and are roughly broken down into the following categories:
- Network layer attacks
- Service layer attacks
- Exploiting vulnerabilities
- Application layer attacks
