The second next-generation load balancer from AWS ELB service is NLB. This highly available, fully managed service was introduced to deliver a very high network throughput (in the millions of connections) and very low latency to client services at the network level. NLB can deliver consistent performance, even for very spiky application operating patterns. Since it works on the network layer, it cannot deliver any higher-layer features, like those provided by the ALB or the CLB.
