Packet security
The requirements of modern applications sometimes go beyond the security that's provided by both the WAF, AWS Shield, or any port-based firewalls we implement. To achieve complete packet security, we would need a device that would be able to implement a deep packet inspection or packet pattern analysis inside the traffic being sent through the network.
This would be perfectly viable if all the traffic flowing to our applications was unencrypted.
