So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Domain 1 – Design and implement hybrid IT network architectures at scale
One of the biggest emphases of this exam is hybrid network implementation. You can expect about 14-15 questions that will test your ability to understand the connectivity options provided by AWS and their features. Namely, a large emphasis of this domain is on Direct Connect (DX), the VGW, and BGP routing. You should familiarize yourself with the concepts of hybrid environments, how to make them highly available, and how to implement the BGP routing required to make those features work. When preparing for the exam, make sure you brush up on the following topics:
- Designing VPN connections with the VGW
- When to use the VGW and when to use a VPN instance
