I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Working with Direct Connect
AWS Direct Connect allows you to establish a dedicated layer 2 network connection between your network and one of the AWS Direct Connect locations around the globe. The providers use private optical links with 802.1q VLAN support so that we have complete control over the traffic going to AWS. The traffic can, thus, be directed over multiple virtual interfaces to access multiple private subnets or public AWS services, such as S3, each over its own VLAN. AWS Direct Connect is the right solution whenever there is a requirement for the following:
- Lower latency
- Predictable performance
- Higher throughput
- Large amounts of data are being transferred daily between your on-premises environment and AWS
