Direct Connect requirements
To be able to use Direct Connect, you have to, of course, be located in an area or building being serviced by an AWS Direct Connect partner. This usually means a data center with collocation services being provided by the partner, but in some cases, even metro area networks are serviced by these partners. To find a partner, visit the link provided in the Further reading section of this chapter.
You will also be required to have a device that can connect to a single-mode fiber connection with a 1000BASE-LX or 10GBASE-LR transceiver.
