How to Set Development Goals
Effective goal-setting includes these elements: clarity, challenge, commitment, feedback, and complexity (Locke & Latham, 1990). Your goals should be clearly stated so you can measure your progress toward achieving them, be difficult enough that they stretch your abilities and promote learning, inspire commitment so that you stick to them, include ways to get feedback on your progress, and be complex but achievable with support and resources.
