Qualitative data: If data have no numerical value, that is, if they cannot be measured in numbers,
then this type of data are called qualitative data.
Qualitative data can be classified into two:
Nominal data: “Nominal” comes from the Latin word nomen, which means “name.” The data
that are differentiated by a naming system are called nominal data. Nominal data usually belong to a
definable category. Example: a set of groups.
Ordinal data: The data that show sequential symbols or letters are called ordinal data. Arithmetic
