The systems presented in the previous examples suggest that the physical components may have
variables that change continuously as ordinary (or physical) time evolves. Some of the examples
also indicate that the cyber components may include variables that only change at discrete events.
As a consequence, a notion of time parameterizing the evolution of the variables of a cyber-physical
