Like Anaconda, Conda is an open source package and environment management system that quickly installs, runs, and updates packages and their dependencies while also facilitating creating, saving, loading, and also switching between local virtual environments on your computer. We have already learned these via hands-on experience in our previous chapters. Conda was first created for Python programs, but it can package and distribute software for any language, including R, Ruby, Lua, Scala, Java, JavaScript, C/ C++, and FORTRAN.
