The PC case, chassis, or cabinet is where you build your system configuration. This unit is what would house your motherboard and its interconnected components that can dictate the size of the case you want, depending on the requirements of your internal hardware that would have to be accommodated within the case. PC cases are available on the market in different forms corresponding to standard ATX, Mini ITX size, and microATX.
A microATX motherboard is always compatible with a standard ATX case. But a standard-ATX motherboard will definitely never fit inside a microATX case.
