The Radeon Pro (successor to FirePro) series competes with NVIDIA's Quadro cards and also is primarily focused on professional-level graphical rendering for computer-aided design (CAD), computer-generated imagery (CGI), and digital content creation (DCC) on developer workstations. The first Radeon Pro GPU was launched as the Radeon Pro Duo in April 2016.
One factor that makes Radeon Pro GPUs ahead of Radeon GPUs in scientific calculations and machine learning is the high bandwidth HBM2 ECC memory and greater FP64 power.
