Choosing a good UPS can be a wise choice, especially when you plan to run long simulations or computations on your GPU computing system. To estimate the capacity required, you can use the following formula:
Minimum Volt Amperes = Power Load in Watts X 1.6
So, for a power load of 650 W, you would require a UPS with a capacity of 650 W x 1.6 = 1,040 VA.
The battery backup would also be calculated with the following formula:
UPS Backup = Battery Ah X (volts/load) X (1/Power factor)
On average, the value of the power factor is 1.4.
Alternatively, now, there are many UPS capacity calculators online where you feed your PC specifications and find out the right kind of UPS you would require.
