Overclocking is the process of increasing the factory-shipped parameters such as the clock speed of hardware components usually with the objective to boost its performance. These hardware components can be a CPU, GPU, or even a RAM module.
The basic idea regarding overclocking a component is to change its operational parameters in baby steps and check for stability. When a stable state is achieved by tuning voltage, clock speeds and/or other related parameters, we achieve an overclocked state for that component at an operational level.
