When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Installing Docker Community Edition (CE) on Ubuntu 18.04
On a fresh Ubuntu installation, the following steps will get you an operational version of Docker CE on your system:
- Update your packages:
sudo apt update
- Enable installation via HTTPS:
sudo apt-get install apt-transport-https ca-certificates curl gnupg-agent software-properties-common
- Add the official GPG key of Docker with curl:
curl -fsSL https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu/gpg | sudo apt-key add -
- Docker recommends verifying the key. The following command does that:
$ sudo apt-key fingerprint 0EBFCD88pub rsa4096 2017-02-22 [SCEA]9DC8 5822 9FC7 DD38 854A E2D8 8D81 803C 0EBF CD88uid [ unknown] Docker Release (CE deb) <docker@docker.com>sub rsa4096 2017-02-22 [S]
