This paper proposes a low power design with all the essential components of an Internet of Things (IoT)
node. In the first phase, an optimized processor is developed for the implementation of application layer as well
as network layer. This is done from the already available LEON2 processor by the method of reduction of hard-
ware. A router application is compiled using the Buildroot compiler and verified using Q-Emulator (QEMU).
Moving on to the second phase, a complete hardware advent on the Zigbee MAC Layer and Physical layer
