Sensors gather and accumulate relevant information from an object or the environment after
which it is converted into useful data. For example, consider how you can use gestures on your
phone by simply moving your phone in the air. Your phone detects the motion and converts
the observation into useful data. On the other hand, actuators can alter the physical state of an
object. For instance, it can modify the airflow of a valve or open/close a power supply.
