The Athens International Airport in Greece had exponentially increased the number of passen-
gers by more than 10% in 2016. Thanks to the increase in the tourism sector and immigration.
It is estimated that approximately 20 million passengers went through the gates of the airport
in 2016, this is a new record in itself. Thus, air tra c and landings have also increased expo-
nentially. However, this airport has a strong policy to protect the environment. In fact, it is the
