I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Upgrades
Upgrading an existing, production Ceph cluster can be both straightforward and tricky. It is best to not leapfrog LTS releases when upgrading. For example, if you're still running Firefly, instead of upgrading directly to Luminous you should consider upgrading first to Hammer, then to Jewel, and only then to Luminous. This strategy considers that the constellation of old and new versions is as large as the resources to test all combinations are limited.
Each Ceph release is accompanied by release notes that detail the best process for upgrades. In some cases there are crucial gotchas that must be considered. For example, by default daemons in Jewel and later releases run as the ceph user, instead of root. When upgrading to Jewel ...
