When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Storage drive type
Fibre channel drives, while once popular in enterprise data centers, are increasingly uncommon in new deployments, and in most cases aren't a good fit for Ceph's design of operating on commodity hardware. Most clusters today will be built from drives with SAS or SATA interfaces. Opinions vary regarding the merits of SAS versus SATA; with modern HBA, drive and OS driver technologies the gap between the two may be smaller than it used to be. Successful clusters have been built on SATA drives, but many admins feel that SAS drives tend to perform better especially under heavy load. Neither choice is likely to be disastrous, especially as Ceph is built to ensure redundancy and data availability.
