So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
OSD list
The ceph osd ls command simply returns a list of the OSD numbers currently deployed within the cluster.
# ceph osd ls | head -3

# ceph osd ls |wc

This information could be derived by processing the output of ceph osd tree, but this is a convenient way to drive all in a single command
