When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Troubleshoot a Workflow
There are several things you can do while building a workflow to find out where something might be going wrong.
- Click the “Options” triangle in an action and check your options. At the very least you will usually have the choice to “Show Action When Run.” This stops the action and shows you what it's doing. You might learn something by seeing each step as it goes through its process.
- After you run a workflow, you will see a mark next to the Options triangle. It's either a green checkmark, indicating that particular action executed properly, or a red x, which means it didn't.
- Check the bottom-right corner of the Automator window. Status messages appear here to tell you what's happening.
