Setting Package Parameters

Using the manifest editor, we can set various pieces of metadata for our extension, including its description, version level, supported languages, author, and so on. Most of this information will show up in your extension’s About box. Others are used for true packaging and labeling information.

Packages (and their contained extensions) can target, and run within, a wide range of Visual Studio version and SKU levels. You can explicitly call out the target versions using the Install Targets tab in the manifest editor (see Figure 15.2).
