Controlling access using virtual networks

You can allow access for the services available in a virtual network to an Azure SQL Server. As a prerequisite, you need to make sure that the Microsoft.SQL service endpoint is enabled in this virtual network.

To allow access to the virtual network, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Firewalls and virtual networks, as indicated in the previous section.
  2. In the Virtual networks pane, specify whether you want to add an existing virtual network or create a new one.
  3. In this case, I selected the option to add an existing one. Once you've clicked on it, you need to specify the following:
    • Name: This is a descriptive name for the rule.
    • Subscription: Specify which subscription this virtual network exists ...
