Creating a Redis cache

Let's create a Redis Cache in the Azure portal:

  1. Either find Redis Caches in the menu or go to Create a resource and find Redis Cache.
  2. In the blade that opens, fill out a DNS name that's unique across all of Azure.
  3. Select a subscription.
  4. Select or create a resource group.
  5. Pick your location.
  6. Select your pricing tier. You can view the full details by clicking on View full pricing details. We'll talk about this in more detail soon.

For our example, the tier doesn't matter all that much, so go with C0 Basic, which is the cheapest tier available.
