Exposure Modes
The exposure modes determine how the camera uses the metering information (if at all), including what you need to set and what the camera takes care of automatically. The four exposure modes you need to know about are Program Auto (P), Shutter Speed Priority (S), Aperture Priority (A), and Manual Mode (M).
• Program Auto Mode. In this mode, the camera takes the information from the metering mode and sets both the shutter speed and the aperture to get a proper exposure. It is the default mode, and it might sometimes give you what you want. Most of the time, however, it will disappoint you. I suggest that you just skip it.
