PART 1
Materials are an essential part
of the equation when it comes
to creating handmade elements.
My own experience with the
success or failure of a particular
technique has often hinged on
the materials I chose. I hated
scratchboard until I found Esdee
Scraper Board from England;
watercolor painting was almost
a chore until I discovered 300lb.
Arches cold press paper; tracing
on paper was frustrating until
I used 90 lb. Vidalon from
Canson. In some aspects of my
career I can easily use just about
anything at hand to get the job
