This technique involves a willingness to make a mess; you at
least want to protect your table from running paint. And there’s
no way to predict the outcome, so you need to be willing to take
a risk on what shows up on the page!
When you’re creating textures for graphic design pieces, don’t
worry about creating a fi nished, lovely painting to hang on your
wall. Most of my fi nished textures look like unfi nished sloppy
messes, but I can always fi nd a particularly interesting edge or
