Layer the e ects

The most fun of all is layering a

whole bunch of e ects to get the

look you need for your project.

If you get to a point where you hate

it or a piece of it is looking muddy,

just take some white gesso, paint

it on or use a putty knife to texture

it on, and start over—either on the

entire piece or just the part you

don’t like.

This is not a fi nished project (above),

but a sampling of various techniques

used together to encourage you to

get out all the paints and tools and

have at it.
