2.6 Soft Versus Hard Handoffs in Various Cellular Technologies
We have already mentioned numerous issues related to handoffs for various technologies. In
this section, we tie much of that together. The reader should keep foremost in mind that all
handoffs in 802.11 networks are controlled by the MS.

missions from mobile stations may be received by two or more base stations in adjacent
