6.3 The AAA Server
6.3.1 Introduction
We introduced the concepts of Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting in Chapter 1.
Figure 6.2 illustrates a generalized view of a traditional dial-up AAA environment, including
the remote access server and AAA server. The generic term for the remote access server in an
AAA architecture is the Network Access Server that we introduced earlier in the context of
