General Cleaning
Cleaning the items you want to sell is pretty easy and shouldn’t take long. A little elbow grease and some cleaning supplies should get most items looking pretty good. I’ll cover cleaning jewelry and electronics in their own sections in this book, as they can be a little more delicate. For other items, start with any directions on the item itself (or in its instruction book if you still have it) and follow these basics.
• Furniture. Dust off the item and then use an appropriate polish or cleaner to remove most of the dirt and grime. Do not repaint or refinish the item, which could actually reduce the value.
