So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Necklace
When photographing something like a necklace, you need to show the overall object and then get in close and show some of the important details. I didn’t really have to move much or change any of the camera settings to capture these shots. I had the camera setup with the small LED panel attached to the hot shoe and moved the camera in for the close-ups. In the close-up of the pendant, you can see the slight reflections showing the shape and cut of the stones. If it helps to show how the necklace hangs, include a photograph of a person wearing it.
For jewelry, include details such as the clasp and the texture.
