15.1 INTRODUCTION
Lineaments are linear or near- linear features of different types on the earth’s surface (Han et al.,
2018). In remote sensing, lineaments are linear features that include cultural features and man-
made structures such as canals, dams, roads, etc. (Farahbakhsh et al., 2018). Lineaments represent
different geological features, such as shear zones/ faults, fold axial traces, lines of sedimentary facies
change, alignment of water channels, streams, and valleys, and zones of mineralization (Karaca and
