Mods based on sound theories can still vary widely in the amount of testing done and the quality with which they are built. There are several ways to find out more about whether a brand you are considering is a top-notch product, simply good enough, or a brand to avoid.
First, take a look at the product line the company offers and whether it is involved in any sort of racing. If a company primarily makes appearance mods with a few basic, low-priced mechanical parts, and its products almost never turn up on a race car, you can be certain that their performance parts are also likely to be aimed at an audience who is more interested in how the parts look than how they perform.
