Misplacing bolts and small parts can cause you no end of frustration. Airplane mechanics have a rule that whenever they remove a fastener, they place it in a small bag and hang the bag right next to where they removed the fasteners. While you may not need to be this organized, you will find it very useful to keep all the parts you have removed in a spot where they are not likely to roll away or get lost. Sandwich bags or magnetic trays can be very helpful here. There are few things more frustrating than trying to put your engine back together and not knowing where all the bolts from your project went.
